Sissel Skille was inspired to create Rashanee by a postcard photo of the mountain people in Thailand. It showed a young girl elaborately dressed for a big celebration, looking at once proud and a little shy. Her name comes from a Thai girl who lives in Norway.

She is elaborately dressed in a traditional Thai celebration costume of bright jewel tone shades of satin silks with trims of cording, pom-poms and silver.
